I know I have a tendency to not be too personal on this blog. I am a private person by nature, plus I’ve kept this blog more food focused in the past.
Things are changing…slowly but surely.
I do talk about my family and home life here & there – more often if you follow me on social media.
To break it down, though, I’m a simple woman living a simple life in rural Pennsylvania. I’m happily married and we have two beautiful, brilliant, kooky daughters.
We have three doggies – all “bully breeds” + lots of chickens & quail.
As a family, we happily & proudly spend much of our time volunteering and supporting various causes we believe in.
We, as a family, have big hearts, a big space & lots of love to give. We’ve fostered dogs before and enjoyed it immensely. We’re experienced with training dogs of all ages & sizes and decided it was time to take the plunge into career fosterers ♥
I’m beyond excited to be a foster with Wags Rescue & Referral.
Wags is a non-profit organization. They primarily pull dogs from kill shelters in the south and bring them to PA. They also pull from local shelters and secure dogs from local surrender situations.
In order to do this, the dogs first spend time with fosters in their home states. There they are brought up to date on shots and receive veterinary certification to come to Pennsylvania. Once in PA, they stay with their foster families. This foster time allows Wags to become familiar with the dog and place them in homes where everyone will flourish.
To help get these doges adopted, Wags holds adoption events weekly as well as advertising online with Petfinder and Adopt a Pet.
The amount of people, time, work, effort & love involved in the process to find each of these dogs a home is astounding.
Sunday I picked up our first foster pup. I fell in love with a boy named Bobo. Check out his cute little face ♥
I’ll be sharing my experiences with each dog here. For memories, for interested adopters and for interested fosterers.
Welcome to PA foster pups….you’re soon on your way to your new life & forever home ♥
