- 8 - country style pork ribs I used 4 lbs. pork spare ribs instead
- 2 liter bottle Dr. Pepper soda
- 5 garlic cloves slightly smashed or minced
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
- 1 large onion quartered
- your favorite barbecue sauce
- seasoning for ribs optional
- brown sugar optional
Prep ribs. Remove membrane and cut to fit in stockpot (if necessary)
Place ribs in large stockpot and pour entire bottle of Dr. Pepper over ribs to cover.
Add garlic, liquid smoke and onion.
Bring to a boil, lower to simmer and cook until ribs are tender - approx 1 1/2 - 2 hours should do it.
Place ribs in baking pan. Season (optional) Pour desired amount of BBQ sauce over ribs. Don't skimp on the BBQ sauce.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes.
Sprinkle ribs with a bit of brown sugar and broil for 3-4 minutes. (Optional)
Alternately, you can finish the ribs off on the BBQ grill.
Enjoy!
