Bacon, Maple & Walnut Oatmeal

For most of us, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Make your breakfast count. A delicious & nutritious breakfast like this Bacon Oatmeal that will keep you full, focused and ready to take on the day.

In a perfect world, we would have a full course breakfast ready each morning. Reality is, though, mornings (and life) can be crazy and chaotic.

Quaker® Oats are a necessity in my home. It’s one of our go-to breakfasts. I can have endless breakfast variations on the table with a simple scoop of oats and a cup of water in about two minutes.

I get it – no one wants to eat the same exact thing day in and day out. That’s the beauty of Quaker® Oats – it’s an extremely versatile breakfast. Sweet, savory, salty or even spicy – it all works! We use different milks, fresh fruits, jams, nuts, seeds, breakfast meats, cheese, salsa – whatever we’re in the mood for!

My favorite bowl of oatmeal. Made with Quaker Oats, bacon, pure maple syrup, walnuts & brown sugar - yum!

You’re going to need a piece (or two) of cooked bacon before you get started. I usually make bacon ahead of time for the week to reheat & eat for breakfasts & sandwiches. Or fry a few pieces up when you start your coffee. Or even buy the precooked stuff if you’d like.

The rest of this Bacon Oatmeal recipe is super simple.

Combine the oats, water & sugar in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes. Stir. Then top with crumbled bacon, maple syrup & crushed walnuts.

Thanks Dawn! Oatmeal is our Monday to Friday go to breakfast! I eat it most often with milk, brown sugar and cinnamon or fruit butter stirred in. I love it too! Now if I could only get my toddler to eat it….:)
