Ingredients & Instructions
Okay, so this recipe is about foolproof. Mix everything up and bake.
As for the crab – you have options.
Of course nothing is better than fresh – but I don’t have that right now. In all honesty – when I do have fresh crab – it’s getting picked apart and devoured the moment it’s steamed. So I’ve always use the canned stuff for this. I grab a 16 ounce can of pasteurized crab claw meat (in the refrigerated seafood section at your store). If you’re on a budget, you can grab the crab meat in the aisle alongside canned tuna – you’ll need three 6 ounce cans.
I serve this dip with baguette slices (pita slices or crackers work too) and lemon wedges. A squirt of lemon juice really takes this dip to another level.
Someone I shared this recipe says it’s their brunch hit. They scoop it on top of English muffins, broil it and served with Bloody Mary’s. Yum – I need an invite!
Oh, and let’s not forget about Crabby Fries!!! Serve this Baked Crab Dip on top of french fries and smother in seafood seasoning. Serve with an ice cold beer – it’s perfection!
Anyway you serve it, it’s like cheesy, crabby heaven.
This Maryland Crab Dip mixes up effortlessly and can be made ahead of time. Refrigerate and bake when ready. It also reheats great as well. I often bake this in smaller dishes instead of an 8×8 dish – do what works for you!
Hope you enjoy!
