Delicious & Creative Pepper Jelly Uses
This Pepper Jelly Quick Bread Recipe was inspired by an Amish friend of mine. Her and her family live & work on a farm and she cans everything. I mean everything. She cans their fruits, veggies, meat & poultry all season long.
She shared a recipe with me for sweet quick breads that she makes. She’ll use up any jams or jellies that have been sitting for a few years. She usually will bake quick breads with peach, plum & apple jelly & butters. (She never has any strawberry jam that doesn’t get eaten.) A little vanilla, warm spices and sugar make it a sweet breakfast, dessert or snack bread.
I decided to go a little sweet and a little savory with this quick bread.

Ingredients & Instructions

Ingredients for this Pepper Jelly Quick Bread are pretty standard.
I’ll mention the pepper jelly. I tested this recipe with various pepper jelly & jams. Homemade, farm market & mass produced. They all turned out delicious. I will note that the prettiest & tastiest breads had more pepper pieces in the jam.
As always, the key to a tender quick bread is to avoid overmixing. Whisk together the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Then whisk together your wet ingredients in a separate mixing bowl. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
Time to Eat!

I had to serve this Pepper Jelly Quick Bread with a big schmear of cream cheese. Classic & delicious! You could add a little more pepper jelly on top just to keep it traditional. Creamy salted butter is wonderful too!
This bread is delicious dipped into your favorite chili, creamy chowder or soup.
We LOVE making French Toast with this bread! Pan fry with lots of butter, drizzle with maple syrup and top with whipped cream cheese & a sprinkle of cinnamon. Soooo good!
Hope you enjoy!
